Why bring in an aquaculture consultant?

The smartest projects get expert input early

Asking for outside help can feel like admitting you don't have every answer. In our experience, it works the other way. The aquaculture projects that succeed over the long term usually bring in experienced people before small decisions turn into expensive ones.

Getting that input early protects your budget, keeps your timeline on track, and gives your project a stronger foundation. It's what careful, well-run projects do. To see what that support looks like, read what an aquaculture consultant actually does or the questions to answer before building a fish farm.

Our story

We've built, financed, and run a commercial RAS farm ourselves

In 2015, our founder, Joe Cardenas, started Aquaco LLC to build a commercial-scale, land-based marine recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility raising sustainable seafood in Florida. He took it through every stage and achieved a successful exit in 2025.

  1. Business plan & capital raise: turning an idea into a fundable project
  2. Site selection & construction: building a commercial-scale marine RAS
  3. Day-to-day operations: running the farm and selling the product
  4. 2025: successful exit, then the launch of Aquaco Advisors LLC

Aquaco Advisors LLC exists to share that hands-on experience, and the industry relationships built along the way, with the next generation of aquaculture projects.
